STAR CITIZEN aUEC EXPLAINED
What is Star Citizen aUEC?
aUEC (Alpha United Earth Credits) is the in-game currency of Star Citizen's Persistent Universe during alpha. You spend it on ships, components, weapons, armor, cargo, fuel, repairs, insurance claims and rentals, so your aUEC balance decides how fast you can move from a starter ship to the fleet and loadout you actually want to fly.
Because the game is still in alpha, aUEC is separate from UEC bought on the RSI store and can be reset when Cloud Imperium Games wipes the database for a major patch. That is exactly why many players buy aUEC directly instead of grinding the same loops after every wipe.
How can you earn aUEC in game?
- Missions and bounties – delivery runs, bunker clearing, bounty hunting and investigation contracts, scaling with reputation.

- Mining and salvage – quantanium, hand mining and hull scraping pay well once you own the right ship and tools.
